Athlete Information
To qualify for the US Bobsled team, you must comply with requirements which may be found at the US Federation website (click here).
To be a non-athletic member of the USBSF, you must submit and application (click here).
Athlete Requirements (based on past years)
USBSF is looking for athletes with superior speed and strength, ages 16 and older
Female bobsledders should weigh approximately 140 lbs., height is generally 5'7" or more.
Recruits are required to have an athletic background in sports that require speed and strength such as football, soccer, baseball, track and field, volleyball, softball, field hockey, lacrosse or ice hockey. Though bobsledding looks like a "visual" sport, the ability to command a powerful push-start is critical, and it requires enormous strength and skill.
